Agathe Villanova (Agnès Jaoui), a budding feminist politician, returns to her childhood home to help her sister with their recently deceased mother's belongings. While there, the son (Jamel Debbouze, Amélie) of the family’s Algerian housekeeper approaches Agathe to make a documentary on her. Co-directing with Michel (Jean-Pierre Bacri, Jaoui’s long-time writing partner), the chemistry of the double act produces many awkward and comical moments. Jaoui addresses social and political issues through a rich dialogue, an acerbic and lightly melancholic tone, topped with compelling performances, Agnès Jaoui is back on familiar ground with her third film as director (The Taste of Others, Look At Me).
