Parisian resident, Olivier (Mathieu Demy), accompanied by his pregnant fiancé (Natacha Regnier), revisits Corsica; the village he grew up in and left behind. Content with letting his fiancé explore his roots alone, Olivier joins the local hunting party, after his cousin Vincent vouches for him. Later, he witnesses one of the hunters murder a convenience store cashier. Opting for silence rather than reporting the brutal crime, we watch as the consequences of Olivier’s choice unravel and threaten every facet of his life.

Orso Miret constructs a contemporary fish-out-of-water tale, wrought with uncomfortable tension and slow-building suspense throughout. Clearly influenced by ‘The Wickerman’, Miret uses his fifth feature to really explore character and to offer a refreshing view on the generic, ‘small town mentality’ mantle.
