Following his wife’s death, the farmer Aymé struggles to look after the farm and his house. Consequently, he decides to contact a matrimonial agency to find a new wife. He is recommended to seek his second spouse in Romania, where conditions engender a more resilient kind of woman, capable of enduring the backbreaking work of a farm hand. Taking this advice on board, Aymé sets off to find his new better half. Isabelle Mergault’s debut feature is a witty and insightful comedy showcasing another masterful turn from one of France’s great comedic and dramatic talents Michel Blanc (Les Bronzés, The Witnesses).
