In this charming French Comedy, 43 year old Luis (Alain Chabat) is a successful creator of perfumes who makes the most of his bachelor lifestyle. However, his carefree existence is threatened when his mother and five sisters decide that it's time for him to marry. Unable to deal with the incessant familial pressure and tragic blind dates any longer, Luis forges a scheme that will solve all his problems: he will hire Emma (Charlotte Gainsbourg), his sister’s friend, as his fake bride to be, only to leave him broken hearted at the altar. Having recently ended a long-term relationship and moved back to France, Emma, eager to settle down and planning to adopt an orphan, cannot pass up the financial reward of playing her part in Luis’ plan.
Eric Lartigau's film is a series of funny twists and turns, intelligently written and wonderfully performed by two of France's brightest stars: the successful comic and French household name Alain Chabat, and the celebrity daughter of Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, who has more than proved herself as an acting talent to be reckoned with.
