On Fire

When teenage loner Livia (Camille Varenne) is violently bucked from the horse she rides everyday, volunteer fire-fighter Jean Susini (Gilbert Melki) comes to her rescue and she is instantly smitten. Her initial infatuation develops instantaneously; quickly maturing into a crazed obsession and a deep sexual longing, despite Jean being thirty years older and a married father of two. Armed with an arsenal of seduction methods (lighting fires for Jean to extinguish, baby-sitting his children), the volatile Livia sets forth on a path of destruction, both literally and emotionally.

‘Ça brûle’ debuted at Cannes, where it played in the "Quinzaine des réalisateurs" section and received a standing ovation for its cast as well as the director, Claire Simon.
