One of the most respected directors in the history of cinema. Banned from the Cannes Film Festival in 1958 because of his harsh criticism of the French movie industry, he came back to win the Best Director prize the following year with his debut picture, The 400 Blows.. Truffaut's life and career proved just as intriguing and incredible as the films he made.
