Set in the south of France, a group of mischievous kids set out to disrupt the lives of young courting couple.

François Truffaut’s early short film sets out the path for his illustrious and successful career ahead. The themes of childhood and relationships are brought to the screen with a deft mix of comedy and drama that would characterise his subsequent features.

The two leads, Gérard Blain and Bernadette Lafont (who later got married), would become significant icons of La Nouvelle Vague, most notably as regulars for Claude Chabrol. Lafont and Truffaut collaborated once more in Une Belle fille comme moi.
