Leaving: Interviews

Leaving (Partir) continues the career rebirth of Kristen Scott Thomas who has recently captured audiences with her performances in I’ve loved You For So Long and in the Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy.

In this feature, Thomas portrays housewife Suzanne whose idle existence is sparked by the presence of Spanish builder Ivan (Sergi Lopez). As the title indicates Suzanne sheds her middle class existence by leaving her successful doctor husband (Yvan Attal) and children. However this does not come without dire consequences.

Catherine Corsini , who has successfully directed impossible love affairs as highlighted in Les Ambitieux and La Repetition, comes to form once again. This time by placing the films tragic finale in the beginning and relating the story in flashback. In this interview, Corsini discusses her collaboration with France’s best loved English actress and firm supporter of the channel, Kristin Scott Thomas, who also shares her experiences.
