Cavale

Bruno, a former member of a revolutionary terrorist outfit. has escaped from prison and returns home to Grenoble. However, he finds that the world has moved on; his former partner is now married with children, while his old comrades no longer share his enthusiasm for the cause, and the local boss, once his ally, is now aligned to a corrupt cop, Bruno takes to the mountains where an unexpected encounter will provide him a new perspective on life.
Part of Lucas Belvaux’s ambitious 'Trilogy' project (all filmed within six months), Cavale constitutes the thriller genre of the three with its man on the run set-up. However, Belvaux is never one to conform to genre confines, as he injects the thrill of the chase with measured doses of thoughtful characterisation, social conscience and political conviction.
