‘Mark of an Angel’: Interviews (2009) 25 mins
A brilliant psychological thriller, Mark of an Angel was released in the UK in May 2008 to great acclaim.
The erratic yet deeply vulnerable Elsa (Catherine Frot) lost her daughter in a fire soon after birth seven years ago and is now in a custody battle with her husband for their twelve year old son Thomas. At a friend’s birthday party she encounters the seven year old Lola, whom she is convinced is her daughter. An obsession ensues leading to an inevitable confrontation with the girl’s concerned mother Claire (Sandrine Bonnaire).
Cinémoi met up with the director of the film Safy Nebbou, and its two shining stars Catherine Frot (Un Air de famille, The Page Turner) and Sandrine Bonnaire (Vagabond, La Cérémonie) to talk extensively about its making.
