The Artist

Perhaps one of the most eagerly anticiapted films in recent memory, Michel Hazanavicius's The Artist is an elegant, rapturous and thoroughly triumphant picture for the 21st Century. Set however in the early part of the 20th Century, The Artist looks back to Hollywood's past and the golden era of silent cinema, and the sudden rise of the 'talkies' after 1929. For silent movie star George Valentin the advent of sound and talking pictures threatens to ruin his career, while at the same time a new star on the block, Peppy Miller, is about to be sent into the stratosphere of stardom. Full of laughs, tears and plenty of tap dancing, The Artist is a must-see film for the ages.
