Vivement Dimanche!

Julien Vercel (Jean-Louis Trintignant) is a real estate agent accused of a brace of murders.  A wanted man, he must hide in his office basement, leaving it to his secretary Barbara (Fanny Ardant) to uncover the dark secrets involving adultery, prostitution and shady private detectives leading up to the fatal crimes.

Truffaut’s last film, sadly he died of cancer a year later, confidently boasts the director’s mastery of cinema, with a great ‘whodunit’ script and numerous nods to American film noir and his idol Hitchcock. Among a fine cast, Fanny Ardant (his partner at the time) steals the show.
