The star offers a genuine and in-depth account of his career, as well as personal insights into the world of French film. Lindon began his career as an assistant costume designer before a stint as a journalist for the daily newspaper ‘Le Matin’. Such a wide range of experience has no doubt contributred to the versatlility and wisdom of this fine actor, one of the best working not only in France, but in the world today. Winner of the prestigious Jean Gabin prize, coveted by all French actors, Lindon has become the leading man of choice for some of the most successful and accomplished directors in France, such as Benoit Jacquot, Coline Serreau, Pierre Jolivet and Claude Lelouch. On this side of the channel, Lindon is best known for his comic cameo as a drunken passerby in Mathieu Kassovitz’s La Haine and a beautifully understated performance in Claire Denis’ Vendredi soir. More recently, two films featuring the star have been released to acclaim in the UK: the thriller Anything For Her with Diane Kruger, and Philippe Lioret’s touching, politcal drama Welcome.
