After the unrivalled coverage of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Cinémoi will be offering for the first time unprecedented access to the most glamorous film festival’s in the world, The Venice Film Festival, in collaboration with Sundance Channel Global and 3DD Productions.
Respected film critic Derek Malcolm will head a four-part repeated series of programmes that will bring viewers exclusive interviews with top actors and actresses, and the complete lowdown on all the films causing a stir at the festival, with latest news from the red carpet, all the backstage gossip and access to the hottest events at the festival.
Renowned for attracting A-List stars as well as the world’s best filmmaking talent, the Oldest Film Festival is set to dazzle once again. Alongside of the members of the Jury Todd Haynes, André Téchiné among others, Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky who is the President of the Venezia 68 Jury, will be awarding the prestigious Golden Lion Award to this year’s Best Film.
Among the stellar programme of fresh films is Andrea Arnold’s adaptation of Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, Steve Mcqueen’s sex-addiction drama Shame, and the highly anticipated reimagining of John Le Carre’s novel Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy featuring Gary Oldman.
Other notable inclusions are David Cronenberg’s study of Sigmund Freud with A Dangerous Method, Roman Polanski’s Carnage, Philippe Garrel’s Un Eté Brulant and a new film from Persepolis animators (Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud) titled Chicken with Plums.
