Un honnête commerçant

This atypical Belgian police thriller presents the story of upstanding businessman Hubert Verkamen (Benoît Verhaert), who is accused of murdering an entire family.
Indignant about his innocence, police inspectors Bex (Yolande Moreau, Séraphine) and Denoote (Frédéric Bodson) still have every reason to believe that Verkamen is a dangerous drug dealer. The police officers’ resolve to get Verkmen to admit the truth descends into a tense cat and mouse game. Verkamen, aided by the ghost of his old gangster mentor Mr Chevalier (Philippe Noiret), sets out to destroy the integrity of his interrogators, while simultaneously gleaning valuable information from them for his business.
The questionable principles of all the characters make this film engrossing and marries the tenets of the police thriller genre with a plot that will have you guessing at every turn.
