On Tour - Exclusive Interview

To celebrate the release of the award the winning On Tour on 10th December, Cinémoi presents an exclusive interview with director Mathieu Amalric, and stars Mimi Le Meaux and Julie Atlas Muz amidst the glitz and glamour of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.

Joachim, played by Amalric (Quantum of Solace, Mesrine, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), a former Parisian television producer has left everything behind – his children, friends, enemies and lovers – to start a new life in America. He returns to France with a team of Burlesque strip-tease performers whom he takes on tour with dreams of a last grand show in Paris. When he is betrayed by an old friend the dream goes up in smoke and old wounds are reopened. A freewheeling, sensuous road movie, and a perceptive character study evocative of Cassavetes (Opening Night, The Killing of a Chinese Bookie), On Tour brought the multi-talented Amalric overdue recognition for his abilities behind the camera through the coveted Best Director prize at Cannes.
