The director-writer-actor brothers Bruno and Denis Podalydès revive the endearing comic character Albert, of their former award winning medium-length feature Versailles Rive-Gauche.

Six years on, Albert (Denis Podalydès), a boom operator living in Versailles, is as awkward and stricken with chronic indecision as ever.  He stumbles through relationships and work while managing to avoid anything that even resembles responsibility.

This wonderfully narrated tale about the fear of adulthood and the desire to cling onto the carefree world of adolescence echoes Woody Allen at his best.  Denis Podalydès’ wonderfully hangdog creation is complemented by a strong supporting cast, including Jeanne Balibar and a cameo by Mathieu Amalric.

Picking up from their previous César for best short film, the brothers fittingly scooped up the award for best first feature with this second attempt.
